Materials are shot-blasted to SA2.5 in-house, in compliance with BS 7079 standards.
Steelwork is painted according to BS 5493 and the Engineer’s specifications, using industry-leading materials to ensure a cost- and time-efficient solution.
Coating thickness is tested in line with our ISO 9001 quality procedures, with the paint application process regularly reviewed by the paint manufacturer to maintain quality and consistency.
Most of our steelwork is painted in light grey or white, using one of the following paint options. Other primers or colours can be accommodated upon request:
- Sherwin Williams MACROPOXY C400V3 Zinc Phosphate Primer/Buildcoat: 75–250 microns per coat.
- Sherwin Williams M155 Matt Protective Finish: 75–120 microns per coat.
- Sherwin Williams Zinc Clad J984 Zinc-Rich Primer: 75 microns per coat.
For enhanced protection and external steelwork, we offer a hot-dip galvanised finish to BS ISO 1461 standards, with coating thicknesses of 85 or 140 microns.
Fire protection is available with off-site intumescent coatings compliant with SCI P160. On-site painting of connections is handled by approved contractors, and full fire protection certification is provided.
