H.Young Structures Ltd facilities include estimating, design, detailing, fabrication, surface finishing, and erection.

Facilities: Surface Finishing

Material are shotblasted to SA2.5 in-house, conforming to BS 7079.

Steelwork is painted in accordance with BS 5493, to the engineers specification, using industry leading materials to provide a cost and time effective solution.

Thickness of coatings are tested in accordance with our ISO 9001 quality procedures.

The paint application process is reviewed regularly by the paint manufacturer.

 

 

 

The majority of our steelwork is painted light grey or white, using one of the following available paints, other primers / colours will be considered if required:

• Sherwin Williams MACROPOXY C400V3 ZINC PHOSPHATE PRIMER/BUILDCOAT 75-250 microns per coat.

• Sherwin Williams M155 MATT PROTECTIVE FINISH 75 – 120 microns per coat.

• Sherwin Williams ZINC CLAD J984 ZINC RICH PRIMER 75 microns per coat.

For increased protection and external steelwork, we can offer a hot-dip galvanised finish to BS ISO 1461 to 85 or 140 microns.

Fire protection can be provided with off-site intumescent coatings in accordance with SCI P160, with painting of connections carried out on-site by approved contractors. Full certification of the fire protection is provided.
